Business. Language. Philosophy.
Three perspectives. One coaching experience.
Effective communication in Japan rarely exists in isolation. Behind every conversation lies a business objective, a choice of words, a relationship, and a context that may not always be visible.
My approach to coaching is shaped by three perspectives: business, language, and philosophy.
My experience as a USCPA and in audit has taught me to look closely at how businesses and organizations work — how decisions are made, how they are communicated, and how they ultimately become action. It provides the business logic behind the situations in which my clients find themselves.
As a Registered Japanese Language Teacher, I bring a different perspective: an understanding of how Japanese works not only as a system of grammar and vocabulary, but as a living form of communication. In Japanese, meaning can shift with context, relationship, intention, and purpose. Knowing the words is one thing; knowing what those words mean in a particular moment is another.
My background in philosophy and essay writing adds yet another dimension. Philosophy taught me to examine the assumptions beneath an idea; writing taught me to pay attention to the weight of a word, the rhythm of an expression, and the meaning that can reside between the lines. In communication, what is said matters. So does what is implied — and sometimes, what remains unsaid.
These perspectives are distinct, but they are not separate.
TABIJI brings them together in one coaching experience — connecting Japanese proficiency with the business realities, human relationships, and organizational dynamics of working in Japan.
The goal is not simply to speak Japanese more accurately.
It is to understand more deeply, communicate more deliberately, and lead more effectively.
Three perspectives. One purpose.

TABIJI International

Whether your immediate goal is JLPT N1/N2, an important presentation, or a challenge involving your Japanese team, the coaching begins with the situation you are actually facing.
JLPT preparation is one entry point, not the destination.
The goal is not simply to learn Japanese in the abstract, but to help you use Japanese more effectively in situations that matter to your work.
JLPT certification does not mark the end of the journey.
There is no single “Japanese way” of working.
